After a disaster, many collection owners are doubtful that their collection will ever return to pre-loss condition. Has the value been permanently diminished? Will conservation affect the value? What can I expect from the process? These are all valid, and commonly asked questions. During the evaluation of a damaged collection, we can perform some basic and exploratory testing to determine the extent to which severe damage can be reversed without adversely affecting the artist’s original work. Our clients tell us that the time spent consulting with our conservation staff is a major contributor to the confidence they have in our evaluations and treatment proposals. We work closely with our clients to develop treatment plans and strategies that are the best fit for their collection needs.
